[Update] Take a look at our latest post about installous errors and solutions

After releasing iPhone OS 3.0, Installous updated to ver 2.0.3. There are lots of users who can’t use Installous because of several error that may appears during installation of IPA files.

Troubleshooting (General)

  1. Update on all Cydia packages. Do not skip updates.
  2. Try Restarting device
  3. Install an application from app store like “Google” before installing applications from Installous.
  4. First select download, wait for it to finish (100% complete) then tap “Downloads” section and install. Double tapping on download may corrupt your downloaded file.
  5. Make sure the file you are downloading works fine. -How To?-
  6. Make sure the following packages exists in your Cydia, if not install them or re-install them to make sure everything is solid and packages are not corrupt. Installous is dependent on these sub package libraries.
    • Erica Utilities
    • zip
    • unzip
    • gawk
    • Curl
    • core utils
    • grep
    • Darwin CC Tools
    • UUID Generator

    How will I restore my device if it doesnt even show up on iTunes..

    (Freezes at apple logo.

      Ibrahim,
      Connect your iPhone to your pc or Mac, make a DFU boot an d then restore.
      DFU boos :
      Hold hold both power and home buttons for 10secs, exactly 10secs, then release the power button continu to hold home until iTunes detect your device in recovery mode

    For Archive decompress
    update cydia reinstall installous
    and put doenload on dirty when its asy download or install click install
    but never click the first download link
