There is a huge number of users who facing “Blue Question Mark” when trying to download an app in Installous. Unfortunately mine is working fine so it’s hard to bring a solution for it!

Any idea about that?

Update: It seems that this is because of heavy load on download provider websites such as Mediafire.

You probably now that iPhone 4S and iPad2 are jailbreakable now! Here I’m not going to teach you to how to jailbreak your iPhone or iPad, because there are several hundreds websites which has the same!!

1. I assume that your iPhone 4s (and/or iPad2) is already jailbreaked and you can run Cydia!!!
2. Open Cydia
3. Add the hackulo.us repo (http://cydia.hackulo.us)
4. Go to Search, Search “installous” (without quotes)
5. Let Cydia install that for you
6. Reboot, Reboot,Reboot, Reboot,Reboot, Reboot DO NOT FORGET THIS STEP!!! PLEASE

Today, I created a Page on Facebook for Installous troubleshooting. You can go there and ask your questions. That way you get your answer as soon as possible. Apple just released “iOS 5.0.1 beta” to developers. It will bring “Multitasking Gestures” to iPad1 users. There is also some battery issue fixes in this new release.

Jeff on iDB posted an article about the differences between Untethered, tethered and Semi-tethered jailbreaks. You have to fully understand these aspects to be able to jailbreak you iDevice in way you want.

Untethered Jailbreak *The Best*

The most desirable jailbreak of them all.

SemiTethered Jailbreak *Good*

Better than nothing. You can boot your device every time you want, but you get limited functionality. It means that you will not loose your phone in emergency cases such as battery drain.

Tethered Jalbreak *Bad*

The least desirable of the three. With a tethered jailbreak you cannot reboot your device at all without doing a tethered boot.

If you can’t send message via iMessage try the following solution hope it will fix the problem.

1. go to cydia and add repo url for the application SAM (“Subscriber Artificial Module”), google “Subscriber Artificial Module”; you ll find the repo URL
2. install SAM and SAMpref
3. Click ”Revert Lockdownd to Stock” in Settings>SAM (its unactivating your Hacktivation)
4. Go to Settings > SAM and touch “De-Activate iPhone“
5. Connect with iTunes and activate it (ifs there a problem, google SAM homepage or tutorials for further instructions)
6. If you already have “iPusher“ app -> delete it
7. Navigate to Settings » SAM » Utilities » tap on Backup Activation and then tap on Restore Activation label
8. Reboot your iPhone and then sync it with iTunes
9. Install iPusher App
10. Reboot your iPhone and then sync it with iTunes. Make sure your iPhone is connected to a Wifi with an active internet connection
11. Open iPusher app and tap on Test Push Notifications button. If you see a pop-up saying Yay, push notifications work fine! then it means your Push Notifications are working          fine
12. Deactivate iMessage (if its activated)
13. Restart iPhone
14. Activate it, it should work now.

Dev-Team update their iPhone unlocking solution “ultrasn0w” to works with iOS 5.0. Note that it does not support any new baseband. So if you want to update to iOS 5.0 you should ban baseband update by creating a custom iPSW file.

We’ve updated ultrasn0w to be compatible with iOS5, which came out a few days ago.  While ultrasn0w 1.2.4 (available now in Cydia) doesn’t add support for any new basebands, the update is required for any ultrasn0w unlockers trying out iOS5 (it remains backwards compatible though, so you should be able to use it no matter what firmware you have).

The supported basebands for the iPhone 3G and 3GS are 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04, and 06.15.00.  The baseband supported for the iPhone4 is 01.59.00.

Dev-Team just updated the redsn0w for iOS 5.0. Unfortunately  it does not support iPad2 (Actually does not support A5 Chip) and it’s a tethered jailbreak, means that you should use redsn0w whenever you want to restart your iDevice. I think it’s good for now.

Few hours ago Apple updated Xcode to version 4.2. In new version they done several bug fixes along with adding support for iOS 5.0.

If you already have the 4.1 version you could update it via Mac AppStore. The size of update will be 1.8GB!

Remember that iOS 5.0 scheduled to release on Oct 14.
