Oct 11th, 2010 by Mojtaba

DO NOT UPGRADE TO OS 4.1  if you want to use ultrasn0w. See Step 3

Yesterday Geohot surpisingly released the Limera1n jailbreak for all iDevices (including AppleTV 2G, iPad, iPhones …).

Limera1n is only availbe for windows users. Mac users should wait few days. Stay Tuned.

As I don’t want to make the internet dirty by creating duplicate content, I just place some links to great articles that I found and think good enough for you. Enough talking, let’s play the game.

Step 1 Downloading iOS 4.1

You can download iOS 4.1  via the links below. Please

[hint]I recommend you to keep your files organized, it’s easy as 1,2,3 .

First create a folder on your desktop called “iOS 4 stuffs” without quotes and place all files that you want to use with iOS 4.1 on it, e.g Firmware file (.ipsw) , Limera1n (.exe), downloaded articles (.html), etc.[/hint]

Step 2 Downloading Limera1n

[hint]I highly recommend you to download limera1n via official site. [/hint]

Step 3 Upgreading iDevice to 4.1

If you you want to use ultrasn0w use

If you have an unlock factory iPhone or if you have iPod touch lets iTunes normally upgreade the device to iOS 4.1. Just click Shift+Click (option+click) on update button in iTunes it will ask you for the firmware file, point it to .ipsw file that you downloaded in step 1.

Step 4 Jailbreaking

Step 5 Installing AppStore Apps for FREE!

Step 6 Enjoy!

AppSync for iPad
Apr 3rd, 2010 by Mojtaba

Currently Appsync is applicable on the iPhone OS up to 3.1.3 . I think it also works fine with earlier releases of iPhone OS. In case of iPad Apple may approve their installer in order to prevent using cracked apps.

iPad is now jailbreakable! so you can use Appsync for OS 3.2 on it! here is a brief tutorial of what you should done!

  1. Jailbreak your iPad using Spirit ( How TO?)
  2. Open Cydia
  3. Go to Manage Section
  4. Select sources
  5. Add the following URL into Cydia
    • http://cydia.hackulo.us
  6. Click “Add Anyway”
  7. Ignore any errors
  8. Click on Hackulo source
  9. Select “AppSync for OS 3.2
    • iPhone & iPod Touch users should select OS 3.1
  10. Click on Install button (upper right corner)  then confirm installation
  11. Reboot iPad *IMPORTANT

Fastest iPhone Firmware?! [iPhone 2G]
Jan 15th, 2010 by Mojtaba

In this guide I want to help you to choose the right firmware for your device with the speed in mind. I already test all firmware from 1.1.4 to 3.2.1 (the latest firmware as I write this article) on my iPhone 2G.

The speed factors are as below:

  1. Switching between pages.
  2. Keyboard speed (while typing text messages)
  3. Application execution times (I know that is mainly depends on the CPU speed)

1.x

There is nothing to say about 1.x family because there is no AppStore on this family, So JUST FORGET IT!

2.x

If you remember the early versions of 2.x family (2.0, 2.0.1, 2.0.2, 2.1) is full of bugs so everyone decide to upgrade to newer version as soon as Apple release them. But by the releases of 2.2 the game changes. It’s stable, fast and accurate in action and also if you jailbreak it, it will bring all the good things that you need to enjoy your iPhone such as AppStore, Copy/Paste (clippy), Video recording (Cycorder), Bluetooth file transfer (iBluetooth), Background application (Backgrounder), etc.

3.x

The main feature of OS 3 is the “Push notification”. Actually there is no more notable things in this version (you can find full list here), all the things that they add to this version was previously resolved by jailbreakers. Beside that if you have to unlock your 2G using any kind of PWNing tools you will lose the Push ability, after that you will found a way called “push fix” by Dev-Team that bring push to your 2G but when you enable it, first of all your device will works very slowly and also you will get lots of false push alerts. The speed impact of the 3.x family on 2G was very ridicules, I think Apple intentionally do this in order to force 2G users to buy an iPhone 3GS. It may also happens because of jailbreaking.

Conclusion

If you want to have a fast iPhone 2G I suggest you to use OS 2.2 (if you already upgrade to 3.x you can easily downgrade it, i will post something about that in near future).

If you upgrade to 3.1.2 :

  • Overall speed reduction
  • Battery life Get
  • Some Cydia application did not work properly in all situations such as iBluetooth

If don’t upgrade to 3.1.2 (stay on 2.2)

  • There is no Push Notification
  • You can’t arrange app icons using iTunes
  • You can’t play multiplayer games (the games that runs on more than 2 iPhone)
  • SMS delivery report (actually I did not test it on 2.x)
Hudmidify your iPhone with iFog
Dec 6th, 2009 by Mojtaba

Today I find a new software in AppStore named “iFog”. When I opened it, just find a simple photo of rose flower as below :

But when I puff into the iPhone microphone, wow! iPhone screen covered with fog? It’s really interesting, huh? Now you can write down on it and you may want to play tic-tac-toe with your friends!
But the main point of this app was discovered when you write something on the iPhone screen, yes you can’t see what you write but when you puffiFog on Youtube into mic & make some fog your writing appears on the screen as you can see in following screen shot :

if you familiar with the iPhone user interface (buttons, etc) you found that the UI of this app is a bit differ form what you seen before it may be another point of interest for buying this app!
But iFog didn’t support Multi-touch, I think they should add this functionality in future updates.

Below you can find a video that demonstrate iFrog:
