You probably now that iPhone 4S and iPad2 are jailbreakable now! Here I’m not going to teach you to how to jailbreak your iPhone or iPad, because there are several hundreds websites which has the same!!

Instead I want to tell you how you can install Installous to test drive paid apps for free before you actually buy those. creacking Apple app installation mechanism is easy, Thanks to Hackulo.us (Guys behind the Installous). Follow me

1. I assume that your iPhone 4s (and/or iPad2) is already jailbreaked and you can run Cydia!!!
2. Open Cydia
3. Add the hackulo.us repo (http://cydia.hackulo.us)
4. Go to Search, Search “installous” (without quotes)
5. Let Cydia install that for you
6. Reboot, Reboot,Reboot, Reboot,Reboot, Reboot DO NOT FORGET THIS STEP!!! PLEASE

The process

1. Open Cydia
2. Add this source: http://cydia.hackulo.us
3. install AppSync for iOS 5.0
4. Restart iDevice
5. Connect iDevice to your PC/Mac by USB-Cable
6. Copy cracked ipa files into your iTunes Library (just drag and drop to the iTunes Window)
7. Tell iTunes to install applications that you want
8. Start Syncing iPhone!
9. enjoy it!

By the releases of installous 4, hackulous introduce a new way to handle ipa files (AppStore Apps) on the iDevices called “LocalSharing“. With LocalSharing you can easily transfer downloaded apps to your computer or other iDevices.

LocalSharing is a feature that lets you transfer cracked applications from one device to another. Imagine you’re with a friend who wants to test an app you tried out. Instead of having to find it and download it, you can simply send it to them via wifi. Installous will use Bonjour to find nearby devices and share the cracked app with them if those devices accept.

Hackulous released the Appsync 4.0+ wich support all iOS 4 versions and also fixes the Game Center & In App Purchases bug.

There are so many AppSync packages in our repository. This madness must end! I’ve combined 4.0, 4.1, and 4.2 AppSync’s into a single package called “AppSync for 4.0+”. This package is reverse compatible and fixes the In App Purchases bug!

You can update it via cydia. Here you can find more information about Appsync.

As one knows apple few days ago released the new iOS (4.3) for iPad, iPhone, etc. I’m sure that you have read a lot in other sites about this new version. By the way I just can say that AppSync & installous are still work with this version. So if you can jailbreak your device you have the chance to use AppStore Apps as free by installing AppSync and installous via Cydia. Here you can find the instructions to do so.

As I read all iDevices can be jailbroken untethered on iOS 4.3.

You should first install security.deb & sourcegui-1.2.deb.

• AppSync for iOS 3.1
• AppSync for iOS 3.2
• AppSync for iOS 4.0
• AppSync for iOS 4.1
• AppSync for iOS 4.2

Make sure that you choose the correct version of AppSync.

Many users reports that they can’t install application via installous because of an error “Invalid IPA”. This is because of failure in downloading files or the file it self may corrupted. I can’t find a solid way to solve this error but you can do the following and see what happens next, this works for me.

1. Close installous, Double tap on home button and force it to exit.
2. Make sure that your internet connection works well on device. Test it using safari.
3. Go To Cydia and make sure you have the latest version of installous (Currently 3.6)
4. Close all applications by double tapping home button.

Now open installous and start downloading a tiny app like “Dual Level Pro”, install it. If the problem exists please share your experience in comment section of this post. I look forward to your response.

[Update 1] If the above process did not solve the problem, try to uninstall appsync then installous in Cyida and reboot your device. Now just install installous alone it will install appsync for you. According to a comment by khusroo on this post it will solve the problem in many cases.

As one knows apple yesterday released the new iOS (4.2.1) for iPad, iPhone,etc. The main feature of this version is AirPlay, AirPrint. I’m sure that you have read a lot in other sites about this new version. By the way I just can say that AppSync still works with this version. So if you can jailbreak your device you have the chance to use AppStore Apps as free by installing AppSync and installous via Cydia. Here you can find the instructions to do so.

As I read in Dev-Team site, iPhone 3G and 3GS (Old bootrom) can be jailbroken untethered. But iPhone 4, iPad and also iPhone 3GS (new bootrom) will get tethered jailbreak (means that you have to boot the device using a computer). I hate tethered jailbreak and prefer to use iOS 4.1 on my iPhone 3GS and 3.2 on my iPad and don’t want to update to 4.2.
