Human Verification Code Problem -Installous-
Jan 25th, 2012 by Mojtaba

There is a huge number of users who facing “Blue Question Mark” when trying to download an app in Installous. Unfortunately mine is working fine so it’s hard to bring a solution for it!

Randy upload the following screen shot on our Facebook Page  showing the blue question mark when he try to download an app!

Any idea about that?

Update: It seems that this is because of heavy load on download provider websites such as Mediafire.

How To Fix 1604, 1603, 1602, 1601, 1600 Errors
Feb 23rd, 2011 by Mojtaba

Did you hit a 1604, 1603, 1602, 1601, 1600 error while trying to restore your iDevice (iPhone, iPad, etc) to custom firmware that created by PwnageTool or Sn0wbreeze ? Today I found a solution these errors. iH8sn0w has released a new version of iREB tool, which is compatible with iOS 4.2.1.

iREB is a tool that will put your device into a pwned state so that you can upload custom firmware to it.

Requirements You should have the latest version of iTunes and iREB. Here you can find it.

iREB is currently available only for Windows users.

The Process

Follow me to bypass the 1604, 1603, 1602, 1601, 1600 errors:

  • Boot your iDevice into DFU mode (Here you can find the instructions)
  • Now close iTunes and launch the iREB tool that you had downloaded earlier
  • Click on the relevant device from the iREB screen and wait for few seconds until you get a white or red screen on your iOS device
  • Start iTunes again and select your iOS device from the left hand side side bar
  • While on the iTunes window, hold the Shift key and click on the ‘Restore‘ button.
  • Navigate and select the custom iOS 4.2.1 IPSW file to restore your iOS device with it

This is a VERY IMPORTANT STEP as just clicking the ‘Restore’ button without the ‘Shift’ button will result in restoring your iPhone with the latest firmware, by holding down the ‘Shift’ button, allows you choose the custom iOS 4.2.1 firmware file created using PwnageTool or Sn0wbreeze

As always let us know the result.

Installous “Invalid IPA” problem
Jan 7th, 2011 by Mojtaba

I just created a page on Facebook to help users which are having problems with installous. Click Here

Many users reports that they can’t install application via installous because of an error “Invalid IPA”. This is because of failure in downloading files or the file it self may corrupted. I can’t find a solid way to solve this error but you can do the following and see what happens next, this works for me.

  1. Close installous, Double tap on home button and force it to exit.
  2. Make sure that your internet connection works well on device. Test it using safari.
  3. Go To Cydia and make sure you have the latest version of installous (Currently 3.6)
  4. Close all applications by double tapping home button.

Now open installous and start downloading a tiny app like “Dual Level Pro”, install it. If the problem exists please share your experience in comment section of this post. I look forward to your response.

[Update 1] If the above process did not solve the problem, try to uninstall appsync then installous in Cyida and reboot your device. Now just install installous alone it will install appsync for you. According to a comment by khusroo on this post it will solve the problem in many cases.

[Update] Take a look at our latest post about installous errors and solutions

Saving PDF with Quartz filter

Now your PDF file is ready to sync with your iBook, Just drop it to the iTunes then re-sync your iDevice.

Jailbreakme Did Not Work! [Solved]
Aug 2nd, 2010 by Mojtaba

As one knows few hours ago @Comex released the new jailbreak solution named “JailbreakMe”. I think they found a new hole in mobile safari (installed on all iOS by default) so they decided to release a web application (probably based on webkit) instead of desktop class application.

Unfortunatly I can’t get it to work! I test it on my iPhone 3GS with iOS 4.0. Jailbreakme.com loads successfully but when I slide to jailbreak nothing happens. Any one can help me?!

[Update]

Finally I get it to work! Here is a list of what I done :

  • Force Quit safari using multitask function (double tapping on home button)
  • Clearing safari cache, cookies, … (In Settings go to safari section, you will find the way)
  • Reboot device
  • Repeat the above steps for 3 times!
  • Go to Jailbreakme.modmyi.com and it works

Enjoy!
