Perhaps you already have hundreds of apps installed on your iPhone (iPad, iPodTouch, etc). Did you know how often did you use each one? I think many of them are useless or you may use them less then once per month.
A new tool called AppStat is now available via Cydia which can record your app usage statistics. The idea behind this tweak is nice, I think that Apple should integrate such thing to their Springboard so user can get more detailed statistics about the apps they installed. Apple currently count the downloads but don’t record on device usages.
This can bring many features to SpringBoard such as auto sorting apps (Placing must used apps to the first page and so on for instat access, or even move must used apps in each page to first row of that page). iTunes also can offer app deletion suggestion via recorded data with a weekly or monthly basis. If allow users to share their stats via iTunes, Apple can also use these data for their iAd network. It can also help app developers in several ways.
Features can be added to iPhone (also iPad) by gathering app usage statistics
- Auto sorting springboard
- App deletion suggestion
- App buying suggestion according to popularity among friends.
- iAd improvement.
- …
By the way I don’t know how I can suggest these to Apple, If you know please tell me I look forward to your response guys. You can also help me by sharing this post to social networks such as Twitter of Facebook.
